PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of improving a torque property of the rotary electric machine, and to reduce an environmental load exhausted from an electric vehicle by using the rotary electric machine.SOLUTION: A permanent magnet rotary electric machine comprises a rotor including permanent magnets buried in a plurality of permanent magnet insertion holes provided in a rotor core. The rotor is supported in a freely rotatable manner by a rotary shaft via a gap at an inner circumferential side of a stator. When a magnetic flux axis of the permanent magnet is defined as (d) axis and a position separated from the (d) axis at 90° of an electric angle is defined as (q) axis, there are permanent magnets on the (q) axis. A first permanent magnet magnetized to be orthogonal with the (q) axis is buried in the permanent magnet insertion hole, the permanent magnet insertion holes are also disposed on the (d) axis, and a second permanent magnet magnetized in a direction in parallel with the (d) axis is buried in the permanent magnet insertion hole. Between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet, at least one or more third permanent magnets are provided which are buried in the permanent magnet insertion holes. |
