It is intended to provide a power generating apparatus of renewable energy type where a piping between a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor is reduced in length and a nacelle is reduced in size and weight. A power generating apparatus of renewable energy type 1 may include, but is not limited to, a tower 2, a nacelle 4 provided at an end part of the tower 2, a main shaft 14 housed in the nacelle 4 and rotates with a blade 6B, a hydraulic pump 8 housed in the nacelle 4 and connected to the main shaft 14, a hydraulic motor 10 driven by operating oil supplied from the hydraulic pump 8, a generator 12 connected to the hydraulic motor 10, and a piping between the hydraulic pump 8 and the hydraulic motor 10 to circulate the operating oil. The hydraulic motor 10 is housed in at least one of the nacelle 4 and the upper part of the tower 2, the generator 12 is housed in at least one of the nacelle 4 and the upper part of the tower 2, and at least one of the hydraulic motor 10 and the generator 12 is arranged in a space excluding an area 5 between the main shaft 14 and the hydraulic pump 8; and a rear end wait surface 4A of a wall of the nacelle 4. The rear end wall surface 4A is on a side of the nacelle 4 farther from the blade.
