PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable printing on a printing medium even if a speed at which a printing medium is conveyed by a conveying means does not match printing speed of a printing apparatus.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus 1 includes a printing part 4 for attaching ink to a printing medium 3 conveyed by conveying means 2 and performs printing on the printing medium 3 at predetermined printing intervals in a printing position 40 in the printing part 4. The printing apparatus 1 includes: an upstream guide roller 12 provided upstream of the printing part 4 and engaged with the printing medium 3; a downstream guide roller 17 provided downstream of the printing part 4 and engaged with the printing medium 3; a drive mechanism 5 configured to integrally drive the upstream and downstream guide rollers 12 and 17 linearly in a direction (a) and in a direction b; a conveying speed detection means 6 configured to detect the speed V at which the printing medium 3 is conveyed by the conveying means 2; and a speed control means 7 configured to control the moving speed Vm of the printing medium 3 in the printing position 40 when the printing part 4 performs printing on the printing medium 3, by controlling the drive speed V2 of the upstream and downstream guide rollers 12 and 17 based on the detected conveying speed V1. |
