PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of effectively functioning a protection effect based on a protector by restraining the protector itself from being damaged.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire includes: a tread section 1; a pair of sidewall sections 2; a pair of bead sections 3; a carcass layer 4 of at least one layer provided between the pair of bead sections 3, 3; and a belt layer 7 of multiple layers disposed on the outer periphery side of the carcass layer 4 in the tread section 1. A pair of protectors 11 that project from a tire surface and continue in the tire periphery direction are coaxially disposed on the sidewall section 2. Each of the protectors 11 is formed into a triangular shape in a tire meridian cross section, an inclination angle α of an inclination surface S1 extending toward the outside in the tire radial direction from a vertex P of the protector 11 to the tire radial direction is set to 15-45 degrees, and an inclination angle &bgr; of an inclination surface S2 extending toward the inside in the tire radial direction from a vertex P of the protector 11 to the tire axial direction is set to 0-30 degrees. |
