PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting wire which can minimize reduction of critical current Ic during irreversible distortion, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A superconducting wire 1 comprises: a tape-like substrate 10; and a superconducting layer 30 provided on one side of the substrate 10 in the thickness direction thereof, and consisting mainly of an RE-based superconductor in which the a-axis direction or b-axis direction of the cristal axis intersects the longitudinal direction L of the substrate 10. At least one layer of an oxide layer mainly composed of a crystalline oxide, in which the Miller index <100> direction or the Miller index <010> direction intersects the longitudinal direction, is included. An intermediate layer is provided between the substrate and the superconducting layer, and the angle α formed by the a-axis direction or b-axis direction and the longitudinal direction is 45 degrees or less. |
