Abstract A clothing iron with an improved metal base which does not lose heat from that provided to it from heating element, for providing a heated surface to pass over clothing. The base is formed from one part. The heating element provided in a cavity in a thin metal block covering the base. The heating element has a sheet of mica paper having its first face facing downwards toward base and second face facing upward away from base and a heating wire wound on the first face and not over the second face of mica paper. |
