An endoscope comprises an insertion part having a first bend section and a second bend section provided on the base end side of the first bend section, a first bend driving mechanism, and a second bend driving mechanism. The first bend driving mechanism comprises a first pulling member which is provided through the inside of the second bend section and is capable of bending the first bend section, and an operation input part to which an operation capable of bending the first bend section is inputted. The second bend driving mechanism comprises at least a set of second pulling members which are disposed apart from each other at approximately equal distances in the circumferential direction of the second bend section from the first pulling member and are capable of adding compressive force to the second bend section when pulled, and operates in response to the input of the operation to the operation input part. |
