PURPOSE: A failure diagnosis system and a failure diagnosis method thereof are provided to enable fast reaction and fast maintenance by informing a manager of a failure in a facility, by analyzing the control signal of an industrial plant control facility. CONSTITUTION: A failure diagnosis system using a pattern recognition technology includes a control signal input part (21) which receives a control signal from a control facility for operating a plant; a control signal analysis part (22) which analyzes the stability, failure causes, and the location from the control signal inputted through the control signal input part; and an analysis result output part (23) which outputs the analysis results from the control signal analysis part.
