PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a stretchable nonwoven fabric, the method excellent in stretchability.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a stretchable nonwoven fabric, includes the steps of: unevenly stretching a nonwoven fabric to be processed containing a stretchable fiber and an elongational fiber while transporting the nonwoven fabric to be processed so as to form a nonwoven fabric having highly stretching and lowly stretching regions; and heating the nonwoven fabric having the highly stretching and lowly stretching regions at a temperature of 40°C or higher and lower than a melting point of the stretchable fiber for 0.1 to 10 seconds. In the method, the nonwoven fabric having the highly stretching and lowly stretching regions has alternately in a transporting direction the highly stretching region and the lowly stretching region parallel to a direction perpendicular to the transporting direction.
