The engine (10) has a supercharger (26) whose compressor (28) is serially connected at a downstream of a compressor (20) of a supercharger (22). The compressors are arranged in direction of flow of air passed through an intake portion (16). Two turbines (42,46) of superchargers are arranged in an exhaust gas tract (40) to drive respective compressors. The turbines are connected parallel to each other based on flow of exhaust gas by exhaust gas tract. Throttle units (80,80') are provided to adjust a passage region of turbine (42) propelling the exhaust gas.
