PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-quality display.SOLUTION: An electrochromic display element includes: a display substrate that includes a display electrode formed on a first substrate and an insulating film formed on or above the display electrode; a counter substrate that includes a counter electrode formed on a second substrate and is disposed opposed to the display substrate; and a coloring layer that is disposed within a region surrounded by seal material between the display substrate and the counter substrate and includes electrochromic material. On or above the display electrode present inside the region surrounded by the seal material, the insulating film is formed excluding a display unit. |
