PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone elastomer composition for forming a cured product having suitable hardness for a balloon for medical use and still showing excellent permanent elongation property, and provide an elastic member for medical appliances as well as a balloon catheter using this composition.SOLUTION: A silicone elastomer composition contains (A) 100 parts by weight of organopolysiloxane of a crude rubber type containing the following components (A1) and (A2) at a mass ratio of 5/95-90/10; (A1) organopolysiloxane that has 2,000 or more of a polymerization degree and has an alkenyl group only at molecular chain terminal, (A2) organopolysiloxane that has a polymerization degree of 2,000 or more and has the alkenyl groups at molecular chain terminal and side chain and still has a content of the alkenyl group in less than 0.10 mass%, (B) 0.2-20 mass parts of organopolysiloxane, (C) an inorganic filler, and (D) an addition reaction catalyst. This composition gives a cured product having 20-40 of hardness and moreover having permanent elongation of less than 10% after the material is elongated and retained up to 700%. |
