The present invention relates to a projection device (20) which enables a more compact arrangement of the individual components thereof. The projection device (20) according to the invention comprises at least one radiation source arrangement. Said arrangement has at least one radiation source (22) that is designed to emit a bundle of beams (23) and at least one radiation detection element (24) that is designed to detect radiation. In addition, the radiation source arrangement comprises at least one beam splitter that is designed to split the bundle of beams (23) into a main bundle of beams (25) and at least one secondary bundle of beams (26) which can be detected by means of the radiation detection element (24). The radiation source arrangement also has a control device that is designed to control the radiation source depending on information about the secondary bundle of beams (26) detected by the radiation detection element (24).
