PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror driving mechanism and a camera with high durability.SOLUTION: In addition to a first contact member defining a mirror down position of a main mirror, a second contact member with which the main mirror is brought into contact at the time of mirror down is provided to a balancer for absorbing kinetic energy of the main mirror. The balancer is moved to a waiting position after start of release operation, and at the time of recovery operation, absorbs kinetic energy of the main mirror by bringing the second contact member into contact with the main mirror prior to the first contact member for defining the mirror down position of the main mirror. Then, the balancer is moved to and stopped at a retreat position such that the second contact member is positioned at a position apart from the main mirror brought into contact with the first member and stopped. |
