PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon nitride-based composite material optimal as an iron casting member, improved in corrosion resistance to iron melt.SOLUTION: A silicon nitride-based composite material for an iron casting member has a structure which contains 10 wt.% or more and 25 wt.% or less of a glass phase comprising a mixture of two or more selected from the group consisting of a lanthanoid oxide, group IIIA oxide and IIIB group oxide, wherein 1 wt.% or more and 5 wt.% or less of iron is uniformly dispersed in the glass phase. |
