PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery system which can be operated while being linked independently with a power distribution system, and can be operated in an optimum operation mode for each user, and to provide a control method thereof.SOLUTION: A storage battery system includes: batteries; a control unit for controlling the charging operation of the batteries from a power distribution system, and the discharge operation of power from the batteries to the power distribution system; and a system controller for controlling the operation of the entire system. The system controller controls the control unit to operate the storage battery system in a first mode for supplying power generated from distributed power supplies linked with the power distribution system preferentially to the load of a user, or a second mode for supplying power stored in the batteries preferentially to the load of a user, which are preset. |
