PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front cowl member made of aluminum alloy, capable of ensuring deformation resistance and rigidity while suppressing weight increase and capable of being produced at low cost while achieving weight reduction.SOLUTION: A front cowl member for automobile, which extends substantially horizontally to a vehicle body and substantially in parallel in the vehicle width direction, is formed from a press-molded product 1 of an aluminum extruded member, and includes: a front flange section 2 located on the vehicle body front side and extending in the vehicle width direction; a vertical wall section 3 joined in the vehicle body downward direction from the vehicle body rear end of the front flange section 2; and a rear flange section 4 joined to the vehicle rear side from the lower end of the vertical wall section 3. The rear flange section 4 is formed into a trough-like cross-sectional shape with an opening section in the upward direction when the rear flange section 4 is cross-sectional viewed at a section A orthogonal to the vehicle width direction. The thickness of the front flange section 2 is set to be larger than that of the rear flange section 4. |
