The method involves recording the collision warning, generation time of collision warning and circumstance in which collision warning is generated, during the travel of motor car (1). The stored collision warning information is evaluated after the termination of travel. The diagram of road situation in the travel direction (9) is produced during the release of collision warning. An independent claim is included for motor car with collision warning apparatus.
