PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a composite carbon nanotube fiber is provided to be used in manufacturing a wide composite carbon nanotube (CNT) fiber from various carbon nanotubes by applying exfoliation of a thin polymer-layer coated with CNTs from a plastic strip and using the polymer layer. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a carbon nanotube fiber comprises the following steps: a polyethylene terephthalate substrate is supplied; the polyethylene terephthalate substrate is contacted with a polyvinyl alcohol polymer solution to form a polyvinyl alcohol polymer layer on the polyethylene terephthalate substrate; the polyvinyl alcohol polymer layer is contacted with a carbon nanotube solution, wherein the carbon nanotube solution includes at least one carbon nanotube; a nanotube layer is formed on the polyvinyl alcohol polymer layer; a complex fiber layer is released by exfoliating the polyvinyl alcohol polymer layer from the polyethylene terephthalate; the composite fiber layer is stretched; and the composite fiber layer is dried.
