PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus generating an image having a dynamic range enlarged by synthesizing a plurality of images of different exposure, and to provide a control method thereof which allow for generation of a composite image of appropriate half-toning.SOLUTION: A plurality of images captured with a plurality of different exposures are acquired, and each image is subjected to white balance adjustment (S402). Depending on the luminance value of one of a plurality of images subjected to white balance adjustment but not subjected to luminance correction, the ratio of synthesis of the plurality of images is determined, and a plurality of images subjected to luminance correction are synthesized at the ratio determined by determination means (S408). |
