PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular jack and a modular jack installing method such that a core wire 21 of a LAN cable 20 can be easily connected to a terminal plate 10, and the terminal plate 10 and core wire 21 can be brought into excellent contact with each other.SOLUTION: A modular jack 1 having a terminal plate 10 where a plurality of core wires 21 of a LAN cable 20 are connected respectively includes a main body 2 which has a plurality of terminal plates 10, a movable claw 3 which is installed tiltably on the main body 2, and a cap 4 which can be separated from the main body 2 and covers the terminal plates 10, and is configured such that the cap 4 has a plurality of grip parts 11 holding the plurality of core wires 21 respectively, and when the movable claw 3 tilts, the cap 4 is pressed against the side of the main body 2. |
