The navigation receiver comprises: a profile database comprising a plurality of profiles for particular protocols for receiving the correction signal; a script database comprising a plurality of scripts with commands for controlling a particular data communication unit. The navigation receiver sets up communication to the correction signal source, processes the positioning and correction signals and generates the augmented navigation data based on a script and a profile of the data communication unit and the interface converter.
