PURPOSE: A carbon dioxide absorbent and a production method thereof are provided to improve the solubility and absorption rate of carbon dioxide, and to increase the carbon dioxide recovery amount while reducing the usage amount of the absorbent. CONSTITUTION: A carbon dioxide absorbent is formed of a sodium chloride aqueous solution containing alumina nanoparticles. The carbon dioxide absorbent additionally contains a dispersing stabilizer. A production method of the carbon dioxide absorbent comprises the following steps: adding the alumina nanoparticles to water, stirring the mixture, and sonicating the mixture; and adding the sodium chloride aqueous solution, stirring the mixture, and sonicating the mixture.
