PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption when controlling an operation of a device during a sleep mode in which communication from the device is disabled.SOLUTION: When controlling an operation of an air purifier 40 during a sleep mode, a script reading device 12 and an image forming apparatus 14 remain in the sleep mode to keep an OFF state, a control device 16 is restored from the sleep mode to turn on a communication part 54, and a control signal for controlling the operation is output to the air purifier 40. When a network operation screen 9 of a personal computer 8 or an operation screen in an operation panel 19 is displayed, the script reading device 12 and the image forming apparatus 14 remain in the sleep mode to keep the OFF state, the control device 16 is restored from the sleep mode to turn on the communication part 54. When a network operation screen updating timer 58c is ignited, a state of the air purifier 40 is acquired and displayed on the network operation screen 9 or the operation screen of the operation panel 19.
