PURPOSE: A password authentication of a user terminal and a device thereof are provided to protect password information from a third party by preventing the password information from being exposed to the third party. CONSTITUTION: A password authentication device (100) of a user terminal includes an input interface unit (110), a setting unit (130), and an authentication unit (150). An input interface unit comprises a plurality of keys. A setting unit receives setup related to password or a direction key from a user through an input interface unit. The authentication unit authenticates the received password by using a dummy key when the password is located at a direction which is indicated by the direction key.
