EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING MALFUNCTION USING SOUND QUALITY PARAMETER

PURPOSE: A device using a sound quality factor and a method for diagnosing the malfunction are provided to classify faulty products in a processing procedure of products and to determine the malfunction. CONSTITUTION: A device (100) using a sound quality factor for diagnosing the malfunction includes vibration signal measuring unit (110), a sound quality factor extracting unit (120), a sound quality factor statistical processing unit (130), a discriminant function production-extraction unit (140), and a group domain classifying unit (150). The vibration signal measuring unit repetitively measures the vibratory signals caused by a group of normal or malfunctioned diagnosis objects. The sound quality factor extracting unit extracts a plurality of sound quality factors from the vibration signals and measures a change in the sound quality factors according to time. The sound quality factor statistical processing unit calculates the average deviation and the standard deviation of the extracted sound quality factors. The discriminant function production-extraction unit generates canonical discriminant functions of the number one smaller than the number of normal or malfunctioned diagnosis objects and extracts meaningful discriminant functions among the canonical discriminant functions. The group domain classifying unit classifies domains of the group of the normal or malfunctioned diagnosis objects by using the meaningful discriminant functions.
