PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiwire electric discharge machining apparatus which can stably performing slicing machining for cutting a columnar workpiece into a plurality of plate-like members at a time by multiwire electric discharge machining using one wire electrode and can improve machining speed.SOLUTION: First, a first machining pulse in a high impedance state is supplied from a plurality of first power feed elements to corresponding electrode intervals. Accordingly, even when electric discharge is generated at any cut wire part, a decrease in electrode interval voltage is suppressed at an adjacent cut wire part in a non-electric discharge state, and electric independence between the adjacent cut wire parts in a plurality of cut wire parts is maintained at a high level. An electric discharge state can be established at all the cut wire parts during the application of the first machining pulse. Once the electric discharge is generated, a second machining pulse in a low electric impedance state is supplied from a plurality of second power feed elements to the corresponding electrode intervals, and a machining current is continuously injected. |
