PURPOSE: A cancer-specific biomarker, complement C9, is provided to determine metastasis and prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer. CONSTITUTION: A composition for diagnosing small cell lung cancer or non-small cell lung cancer contains an agent for measuring C9 mRNA or protein expression level. The agent for measuring the mRNA expression level contains a primer or probe which specifically binds to the complement C9 gene. The agent for measuring protein expression level contains an antibody which is specific to the complement C9 protein. A kit for diagnosing small cell lung cancer or non-small cell lung cancer contains the composition having the agent. The kit is a RT-PCR kit, DNA chip kit, or protein chip kit. |
