PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire with an overcurrent cutoff function that can be fabricated at a low cost, and that is excellent in processability.SOLUTION: An electric wire with an overcurrent cutoff function is provided with, in an axial direction of a long metal conductor 12 having such a thickness as to be melted by an overcurrent, a part where an outer periphery of the metal conductor 12 is covered with a conductive high polymer composition 14 so as to increase a cross sectional area to be energized, and a part where the outer periphery of the metal conductor 12 is not covered with the conductive high polymer composition 14 so as not to increase the cross sectional area to be energized. The metal conductor 12 at the part where the cross sectional area to be energized is not increased is melted by an overcurrent. |
