摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device, which prevents changing in a hue according to viewing angles and is improved in a frontal contrast, and to provide a polarizing plate and a retardation film used in the liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The retardation film contains cellulose acetate having an average acetyl group substitution degree of from 2.2 to 2.5. A retardation value Rt(0.5) in a thickness direction is obtained by measuring the film within 0.5 hour after completion of a final drying process in the production of the retardation film, in an environment of 23°C and 55% RH at 590 nm wavelength of light; a retardation value Rt(24) in the thickness direction is obtained by measuring the film after left to stand for 24 hours in an environment of 23°C and 55% RH after the completion of the final drying step, in an environment of 23°C and 55% RH at 590 nm wavelength of light; and an absolute value of the difference between the above retardation values is 2 nm or less.
