摘要 PURPOSE: An alignment error correction method of an Earth observing system with the symmetric exposure is provided to compare a reference image of the scene with an auxiliary image of the same scene which is obtained by an imaging system, thereby omitting the necessity of both the control points and the super sites. CONSTITUTION: An Earth observation system selects a reference product and an auxiliary product within a pair of image. The system projects a first image into a second image of the pair. The system estimates a pitch error and a roll error through the comparison by the correlation of an auxiliary image and a reference image. The reference image and the auxiliary image are comprised of the exposures of the scene which is obtained by an imaging system. The motion direction of an observation satellite during the exposure of the auxiliary image is opposite to the motion direction of the observation satellite during the exposure of the reference image.
