Drinking water is chlorinated and has in many districts an unpleasant odour. The drinking water and cooking water fraction of the total water consumption of the household is passed through a filtration device, predominantly comprising activated charcoal, mounted immediately upstream of the withdrawal site. The drinking water can then be enriched with metals, minerals and pleasant aroma substances via an injection apparatus. The apparatus is designed so that it can be economically operated and simply maintained, especially in kitchens, fixed or movably installed in working surfaces, sinks or in sink cupboards.
