This nonaqueous secondary battery is characterized in that the negative electrode active material thereof contains a first active material, a second active material and a third active material. This nonaqueous secondary battery is also characterized in that: the first active material is a carbon material wherein the ratio of the peak intensity D that is observed at 1349-1353 cm-1 to the peak intensity G that is observed at 1578-1592 cm-1 in the Raman spectrum as determined by Raman spectroscopy, namely the ratio D/G is 0.15 or less; the second active material has a D50 of 10 mum or less; the second active material contains a first carbon material wherein the ratio D/G is from 0.2 to 2.0 (inclusive) and/or a second carbon material wherein the ratio D/G is from 1.0 to 2.0 (inclusive); the third active material has a D50 of 5 mum or less; and the third active material is a material that contains silicon and oxygen as constituent elements.
