PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an image forming apparatus which includes power-saving mode and perform failure protection operation while minimizing an increase in power consumption when failure of the apparatus is detected during the power saving mode.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a CPU having a power clock changing function; and a plurality of FETs which control power supply to a heater drive circuit, a motor and a display device and the like. When the failure is detected, the image forming apparatus operates the CPU at an operation clock lower than a normal one, and power supply is supplied to a protection circuit and a failure notification means in which the failure occurs. |
