PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a photographer to select a best image that the photographer wants to keep, by suppressing variations in expression evaluation value of each image.SOLUTION: Images to be recorded can be selected appropriately among the images captured continuously by providing face detection means for detecting the face among the images captured continuously, expression evaluation value detection means for detecting the expression evaluation value on the basis of the expression of face detected by the face detection means, image expression evaluation value setting means for setting an image expression evaluation value which imparts an expression evaluation value to an image by detecting the same image a predetermined number of times while changing the parameters of a detected face, for a region of the face being used for calculation of the expression evaluation value, and image selection means for selecting the image to be recorded using the image expression evaluation value imparted to each image by the image expression evaluation value setting means. |
