Disclosed is a method for localised prevention of coal and firedamp outbursts. The method comprises rationally dividing a mining area (5) so that the direction of the maximum horizontal crustal stress in the mining area is essentially consistent, and adjusting the direction of coal face extraction such that the disposition and tunnelling of the coal seam tunnel is as parallel as possible to the direction of the maximum horizontal crustal stress, so as to reduce crustal stress concentration at the head of the extraction face (6), thus reducing the danger of coal and firedamp outburst during the tunnelling of the coal tunnel and the extraction from the coal face (6), and thereby reducing overall the danger of coal and firedamp outburst in a mine.
