PURPOSE: A navigation device with a destination setting function using a phone number extracted by voice recognition and a method thereof are provided to guide a route as the navigation device automatically set a destination when a driver inquire of a service call center or friends about a phone number of the destination by using a mobile telecommunication terminal even though the driver does not know the location of the destination. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device with a destination setting function using a phone number extracted by voice recognition comprises a storage unit(230), a communication unit(240), and a control unit(250). Location information per each phone number is stored in the storage unit. The communication unit is wirelessly communicated with the mobile telecommunication terminal and extracts the phone number by voice signals received by using a voice recognition engine. The control unit searches the location information corresponding to the extracted phone number in the storage unit, thereby setting a destination for route guidance.
