<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for realizing highly flexible reproduction control in slide show reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: In the reproduction control of a slide show to perform sound reproduction with image reproduction, selection and reproduction of a sound file that stores a silent sound enables a pseudo-halt processing of a reproduced sound. For example, in response to an input of an instruction to halt a reproduced sound, or in response to the arrival of the reproduced sound at an Out Time, reproduced-sound conversion processing is executed to convert the sound subject to reproduction to a silent sound.
