The invention relates to a needle sleeve (1) with an insertable thin-walled outer ring (4), which, on its axial sides, has two radially inwardly directed rims (5, 6) and which is composed of a needle ring (7) retained in the outer ring by said rims. Here, the needle ring is formed by a needle cage (8) and a multiplicity of bearing needles (9) guided therein at uniform intervals in a circumferential direction. According to the invention, in the case of an envelope circle diameter, corresponding to the outer diameter of the shaft to be mounted, of between 15 mm and 50 mm, and in the case of a bearing width, corresponding to the outer spacing of its rims, of between 8 mm and 20 mm, the needle sleeve firstly has merely a radial structural height of at most 1.5 mm, and secondly, the outer ring, needle cage and bearing needles of said needle sleeve are produced in non-cutting processes from materials which enable it to be exchanged for a plain bearing, which is used at operating temperatures of -40°C to at least + 140°C and at operating rotational speeds of up to 7000 rpm and which is of identical radial structural height, identical inner diameter and identical bearing width, without modification to the surrounding structure.
