<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of abnormal noise from an intake manifold, which is caused by the back flow of an exhaust while employing a resin intake manifold. <P>SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes a resin intake manifold 27 and variable valve timing mechanisms 41, 42 capable of varying both of an opening and closing timing of an intake valve and an opening and closing timing of an exhaust valve. An electronic control device 60 controls the driving of each of variable valve timing mechanism 41, 42 according to the machine operation condition. When the overlapping of the intake valve and the exhaust valve in a third cylinder 11c adjacent to a fourth cylinder 11d in an exhaust stroke, a waste gate valve 34 is forcibly driven to be fully opened to discharge the exhaust in the exhaust manifold 37 when the magnitude of the pressure of the exhaust discharged from the fourth cylinder 11d in the exhaust stroke and back flowing to the intake manifold 27 through the valve overlapping becomes equal to or above a predetermined value Pth. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
