<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output image data with which a user can easily grasp contents of an image, between image data before performing correction for making a ground color of the image closer to white and image data after performing the correction. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus executes: correction processing (S107) for performing correction to make a ground color of an image represented by image data closer to a predetermined color; first character recognition processing (S104) for recognizing a character on the image represented by image data before the correction; second character recognition processing (S107) for recognizing a character on the image represented by the image data after the correction; superiority/inferiority determination processing (S108) for determining superiority/inferiority between a recognition result of the first character recognition processing and a recognition result of the second character recognition processing; and output processing (S110) for outputting the image data before the correction in the case where it is determined that the recognition result of the first character recognition processing is superior, or outputting the image data after the correction in the case where it is determined that the recognition result of the second character recognition processing is superior. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
