<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration and scattering of toner in an image forming apparatus that includes a development device adopting a touch-down development method. <P>SOLUTION: When the integrated value of a printing ratio difference being a difference in printing ratios between a standard printing ratio and an actual printing ratio reaches a first threshold, a discharge operation is performed for forcibly discharging toner on a development roller to a photoreceptor drum. Further, when the number of prints reaches a second threshold, a recovery operation is performed for forcibly recovering toner on the development roller to a magnetic roller. When the integration value of the printing ratio difference reaches a first threshold as indicated in a clock time T3, the count value of the number of prints is reset. While a certain number of prints is counted between the clock-time T2 and T3, the count value is rewritten to zero (0) at the clock-time T3. This configuration puts the discharge operation at higher priority than the recovery operation, thereby performing the aforementioned two operations at different timings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
