Producing biogas in a biogas plant, comprises (a) fermenting biomass in at least one fermentation container in a first fermentation step to produce a fermentation residue and a raw biogas, (b) introducing hydrogen and a carbon dioxide-containing gas into the fermentation residue in a second and/or a further fermentation step, and (c) biologically converting the hydrogen to methane using carbon dioxide. An independent claim is also included for a biogas plant for producing biogas, comprising at least one fermentation container, in which the biomass is fermented in the first fermentation step to produce the fermentation residue and the raw biogas, and at least one feeder (8) containing an inlet side, which is connected to a hydrogen pipe (9) and a pipe for carbon dioxide-containing gas (4a), and an output side, through which the hydrogen and the carbon dioxide-containing gas are introduced into the fermentation residue in a second and/or a further fermentation step, where the hydrogen is biologically converted to methane by carbon dioxide. |
