LIGHT EMITTING PACKAGE AND BACKLIGHT UNIT HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A light emitting diode package and a backlight unit including the same are provided to implement uniform brightness by widening an orientation angle of light passing through a phosphor by a total reflection. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting diode chip(176) emits light. A lead frame provides a driving voltage to the light emitting diode chip. A phosphor layer(178) is formed on the light emitting diode chip. A resin(184) surrounds the upper side of the phosphor layer. A bonding wire(182a,182b) electrically connects the lead frame to the light emitting diode chip. The phosphor layer has a trapezoidal shape with a flat top surface.
