The invention relates to the use of a combination of omega-3-eicosapentaenoic acid, omega-3-docosahexaenoic acid and gamma-linolenic acid for improving the learning abilities of normal children. In a trial with children age 6 to 12, statistically significant improvements in reading age and working memory with the combination of the invention when compared with placebo was observed. The treatment group over 6 months increased their reading age by over 14 months on average, which is 8 months greater than would be expected without use of the omega-3/omega-6 combination. |
