<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reduction in weight and an increase in strength of a bumper stiffener by the bumper stiffener and crash boxes in a vehicle bumper device. <P>SOLUTION: In this vehicle bumper device, the long bumper stiffener 30 is assembled to and supported by vehicle side members through the crash boxes 21, 22. The bumper stiffener 30 with a hollow cross section is formed into an open cross section having openings A formed in vehicle inner portions. The crash boxes 21, 22 have, in vehicle outer portions, connections 21c3, 22c3 that close the openings A of the bumper stiffener 30 to prevent the enlargement of the openings A, and also have holding portions 21c4, 22c4 that protrude from the connections 21c3, 22c3 toward the outside of the vehicle to hold the bumper stiffener 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
