System and components for inducing pleurodesis while minimizing likelihood of tissue damage from direct application of pleurodesisenhancing materials. A tube device is provided that is configured to elute pleurodesis-enhancing material. The device includes one or more features configured to prevent or lessen the likelihood that the pleurodesisenhancing material comes into direct and concentrated contact with patient tissue when a distal length of the device is disposed indwelling a patient.
