A method for setting up multiple paths in an ad-hoc network and a system thereof are provided to improve performance and a session processing amount of a network by increasing survival time of the network because of reducing overhead via a control procedure. A method for setting up multiple paths in an ad-hoc network comprises the following several steps. Each node measures survival time of a corresponding neighboring node and a link by using receipt start time and end time of a beacon message cyclically transmitted from a neighboring node. An originating node transmits a route request message to a destination node. The destination node transmits a route response message to the originating node corresponding to the route request message. At least one relay node, which exists on plural backward paths connecting the destination node to the originating node, records the survival time, previously measured in accordance with the link to which the route response message is transmitted, in the route response message and transmits the route response message to the next relay node or the originating node. The originating node sets up multiple paths by using the survival time previously measured in correspondence with the link via which the route response message is transmitted and the survival time recorded in the route response message. The survival time recorded in the route response message is the minimum/maximum survival time among that of the links forming a corresponding backward path. |
