<p>PURPOSE: A working method of an electric furnace is provided to replace a large portion of quicklime, inserted as a supplementary material, with CaO included in slag. CONSTITUTION: A working method of an electric furnace comprises the steps of: rapidly cooling molten slag, charging scrap into an electric furnace, melting the scrap, charging the rapid-cooled slag with quicklime into the electric furnace, and making molten metal react with the quicklime and rapid-cooled slag in the electric furnace.
