1,013,856. Inertia switches. FIRE DETECTION Ltd. May 20, 1964 [Feb. 26, 1964], No. 7959/64. Heading H2B. An anti-theft device comprises an electric switch 1 having two resilient blades 4, 5, carrying contacts 2, 3. Blade 5 extends beyond blade 4 and carries a weight 6 at its end and the relative position of the contacts is adjustable by a screw 7 bearing against blade 4. The device is fixed to a motor vehicle with the contacts normally either apart or closed but upon vibration of the vehicle the contacts are intermittently made and broken to actuate an alarm. The switch may be contained in a case (Fig. 4, not shown) which is provided with resilient pads to stop the weight when it is vibrating from impinging on the case. |
